Privacy and cookies

This policy explains what Studzo stores when you use it on this website, in the Studzo app, or on Brick Fanatics, why it stores it, and the choices you have. Studzo does not sell your personal data.
Studzo is the data controller for Studzo.
Minimum age
Studzo is not directed at children under . Studzo does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone below that age. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
Accounts require you to confirm you meet the minimum age. If you are under 18, you should only use Studzo with a parent or guardian's permission.
What Studzo stores
- Your account. Your name, email address, and password. The password is stored as a one-way hash, so nobody at Studzo can read it.
- Your chats. The questions you ask and the answers Studzo gives, and any thumbs up or down you leave.
- Your alerts. The sets, themes, prices, and shops in the price alerts, stock alerts, and release watches you set up.
- Your subscription. Whether Studzo Premium is on your account. Studzo does not see or store your card details.
- Usage records. The IP address and time of each question, your country from your network location, and when Studzo is shown or opened on Brick Fanatics. Studzo uses these to set daily question limits, show prices in your currency, and stop abuse.
You can use Studzo without an account. Studzo still keeps the questions you ask and the usage records above, linked to your browser session instead of a name.
Legal bases (UK and EU)
Studzo relies on these bases under UK GDPR and, where it applies, EU GDPR:
- Contract. To run your account, answer your questions, save chats, send alerts you set up, and provide Studzo Premium you bought.
- Legitimate interests. To keep the service secure, enforce daily limits, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. Studzo balances these interests against your rights and keeps the data limited to what it needs.
- Consent. When you create an account, you agree to these terms and confirm your age. You can withdraw consent for optional processing by closing your account or contacting us, but Studzo may still need to process some data to provide the service you keep using.
- Legal obligation. When Studzo must keep or disclose data to comply with law.
Why Studzo uses it
- To answer your questions and find prices for you.
- To keep your chats so you can come back to them.
- To send the alerts you ask for, password resets, and notices about your account.
- To manage Studzo Premium if you buy it.
- To keep the service working and safe, including daily question limits.
Who helps run Studzo
Studzo shares data with these companies only so they can do this work for Studzo under contract. They may not sell your data.
- AI providers (Anthropic and Typesafe) read your question so Studzo can answer it.
- Resend sends Studzo emails to your address.
- RevenueCat, with the app store or payment service you use, handles Studzo Premium. It receives your account id and email address.
- Hosting and network providers run the servers and connection that Studzo uses.
Set prices come from price and catalogue services. Studzo sends them a set number or name, not your personal data.
Studzo may disclose data when the law requires it, including a valid request from a court or a regulator.
International transfers
Some providers Studzo uses may process data outside the UK or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where required, Studzo uses appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or EU Standard Contractual Clauses, plus any supplementary measures needed for that provider.
Buy links
Some buy links are affiliate links, for example with Amazon or through Awin. If you buy through one, Studzo may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you open a buy link you leave Studzo, and that shop's own privacy policy and cookies apply.
Cookies and storage
Studzo uses only the cookies it needs to work. It does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
- Session cookie. Keeps you signed in and links your chat to your browser.
- XSRF-TOKEN cookie. Protects forms from being sent by another site.
- Browser storage. Remembers small settings in your browser, such as the width of the Studzo panel and how many times you have seen the welcome note. It never leaves your device.
Payment pages for Studzo Premium are run by RevenueCat and the payment service (such as Stripe on the web), and may set their own cookies.
How long Studzo keeps it
Studzo keeps your account, chats, and alerts while your account is open.
When you ask Studzo to delete your account, Studzo deletes or anonymises personal data in the account, chats, and alerts within a reasonable time, except where it must keep some records for legal, tax, or security reasons. Usage records used for limits and abuse prevention are kept only as long as Studzo needs them for those purposes, then deleted or anonymised.
Backups may hold deleted data for a short period before they are overwritten.
Your choices and rights
- Change your name and email address from your account.
- Turn alerts off or delete them from your account at any time.
- Ask Studzo for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and its data.
- If you are in the UK or the EU, you can also complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
To make a request, reply to any email Studzo has sent you, from the address on your account.
